How to Duplicate Apps

Modified on Wed, 20 May, 2015 at 5:02 PM

In this tutorial, we’ll cover how to duplicate an app.

Duplicating an app is useful for when you want to change the content or style of an app, while keeping the functionality or certain aspects of the app.

For example, if you’re making a new page that is a translation of the original page, you’ll duplicate all the apps with content and styling, and then just paste the translated text on the duplicated version.

For whatever reason you need to duplicate an app, here’s how to do it.

Steps for Duplicating an App

1. Login to your site, and find the app you want to duplicate.

2. Hover over it, and notice the toolbar that appears on top of it. This is called the “App Toolbar”.

3. On the left end of the App Toolbar, we have the “Duplicate App” button, depicted by a “2x” icon.

4. Click it and the new app version will appear right below the original one.

Depending on what you want to achieve, you may want to edit the content of the new app, and leave or delete the original app.

Note that the duplicated app always appears under the first one.

Copying an app is different to duplicating it. Apps can be copied from one page to the next when creating a new page, and any changes made to copied apps will appear in all copies of the app.
