Global, Lock Position & Disable Removal

Modified on Wed, 20 May, 2015 at 5:22 PM

When you’re on the Master site, you will be able to control three important aspects of your apps that can help you with compliance maintaining your corporate image. These three options are:

  • Global
  • Lock Position
  • Disable Removal

Here’s a brief explanation of what each one of these settings do.

Global Apps

If you set any app to be global, you will be able to control the content of the app on all of the child sites from the “Master” site.  If you update a global app on the master site, the changes will automatically propagate to all of the child sites.

It is really simple to set any app as Global.

1. Access the master site.

2. Select the app that you want to set as “Global” and click on the “Edit Settings” button.

3. On the pop up window, scroll down until you see the “Global” option.

4. Click on the check-box and save.

Important note:

In case you decide to go from “Global” to “Non Global”, you will not be able to undo that action. This means the site owners will have total control of the app.

Lock Position and Disable Removal

You can lock the position of apps from your master site. This way your users will not be able to change the position of the app by dragging it. You can also disable the removal option so no one can delete the app from the child sites. These changes can be made at any time.

1. Access the master site.

2. Hover your mouse over the app that you want to lock and click on the “Edit Settings” button.

3. You will see a menu where you will find the Lock Position and Disable removal options. Check the options required then click save.
